A very happy Mother’s Day

I’m currently getting my hair brushed by a very, very glorious woman.

It’s a routine. I shower, I come with a comb and sit on the floor while my momma brushes my hair. It’s small, but so significant.

Here is a “thank you”.

A thank you to the woman who has combed my hair since I can remember. Thank you to the woman who raised a strong, opinionated woman, yet is now upset that she is so strong and opinionated. (hahahaha)  Thank you to the woman who continues to let me make my own wrong choices yet never tells me “I told you so.” Thank you to the woman who loves my dad through thick and thin. Thank you to the woman who races to the kitchen once I tell her I’m on my way to see her. Thank you to the woman who has worked so hard to get me through college. Thank you to the woman who believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you to the woman who always sticks up for me when dad and Rico (my brother) try to talk a little smack. (HAHAHA) Thank you to the woman who loves thrifting as much as I do. Thank you to the woman who finds the greatest things in my mistakes. Thank you to the woman who has loved me more and more as each day passes. Thank you to the woman who gives everything yet ask for nothing but maybe some plants. Thank you to the woman who is passionate, sometimes stubborn but so damn forgiving. Thank you to the woman who I would gladly give my own life to.

You constantly tell me how “the love you have for your child is like no love you’ve ever experienced before,”

I hope, when I’m blessed with a child, I become the woman you are.

You are so beautiful to me, so beautiful and so so worth everything in the world.
