This is one of those places where you starve yourself the day before so you can TRY to finish your food. I’m talking about Lulu’s Bakery and Cafe. I found out about this place while I attended Our Lady of the Lake University as a freshman back in 2012. It’s 2015 and I still go to this place as much as possible. This iconic hole-in-the-wall is located in San Antonio, Texas. If you know where St. Mary’s University is, you’re about a jump, skip, walk away from this gem.
Lulu’s actually came out on Man vs. Food, here’s the link!
Their chicken fried steak and cinnamon rolls is what put this place on the map. I’m a huge lover of chicken fried steak and this has to be my FAVORITE place. Lulu’s is known for its over-sized portions, or should I say, Texas sized portions. I mean……..
There are all photos I snagged from google!
This is their infamous 3 POUND CINNAMON ROLL.
This is the Sheriff’s Special. It is a chicken fried steak with queso on top. IT IS MY FAVORITE. AND YES, IT’S AS BIG AS THE PLATE. IT COMES WITH 3 SIDES. DOUBLE MASH IS ALWAYS A GO. WITH A ROLL TOO.
of course you can get a “normal” (not Texas) sized plate.. but.. why would you? EVEN AS LEFTOVERS THESE THINGS ARE AMAZING.
oh, and these prices are beyond words! Everything is so affordable. It’s perfect for the struggling college student (me) and even families.
Here’s the address,
918 N. Main San Antonio, Texas 78212
It’s open 24/7! so its perfect for those late night cravings!
